Windows to Wine

Californians take the green movement from the window to the bar!! Tri-Ced, a materials recovery facility in Union City is converting disposed window glass and miscellaneous debris into recycled wine bottles. Hand sorters sift through over 7 tons of cardboard, metal, plastic and glass (per hour!) to produce an astonishing 2.5 million hued bottles every single day. These facilities hope to create over 2 billion bottles per year, off-setting the carbon footprint of a single Northern California vineyard.
