Reducing Waste through Precision in Manufacturing
From the Factory
When designing our manufacturing processes here at The Window Factory, we consider the environmental impact that every action may have on the environment.
Over the past 13 years, we've learned that the best way to reduce manufacturing waste is not to create it in the first place. We've made significant investments to acquire specialized equipment, such as the computerized glass cutting saw seen here, that enable us to make precise cuts and get the most windows from each slab of raw glass that comes into the factory.

Once a slab of raw glass is cut into sections, our technicians working on the factory floor cut them down by hand based on the custom specifications for the home where they will be installed.

The same is true for all the durable, vinyl housings we use for our windows.

The raw materials are broken down with specialized saws, then finished by hand to ensure that the majority of the material ends up as part of a window and not in the waste bin.
